What Is Breast Lift?
A breast lift — or mastopexy — reshapes and elevates breasts that have lost their youthful position due to pregnancy, breastfeeding, gravity, or weight changes. The procedure removes excess skin and repositions the nipple to a more aesthetically pleasing location, restoring a firmer, rounder contour.
Dr. Frew tailors each lift to your degree of ptosis (sagging) and your personal goals. For patients who also desire volume, a breast lift can be combined with augmentation in a single procedure.
Schedule Your ConsultationIdeal Candidates
- Your nipples point downward or fall below the breast crease
- Your areolas have stretched and appear elongated
- Your breasts lack upper-pole fullness and appear deflated
- You are at a stable, healthy weight
- You have completed childbearing and breastfeeding, or understand that future pregnancies may affect results
- You are a non-smoker or willing to quit before and after surgery
The Process
Assessment & Planning
Dr. Frew evaluates the degree of breast ptosis and discusses your goals to determine the most appropriate lift technique — lollipop (vertical) or anchor (inverted-T).
Skin Removal & Reshaping
Excess skin is removed and the remaining breast tissue is reshaped and tightened to create a rounder, lifted contour.
Nipple Repositioning
The nipple-areola complex is elevated to a higher, more youthful position while maintaining its blood supply and, in most cases, sensation.
Closure
Incisions are closed meticulously in layers. Scar patterns are designed to be as discreet as possible, typically hidden at the areolar border and beneath the breast.
